Sugarbeeters Ready For Upcoming Season

(NMB) The 2022 Chinook Sugarbeeter football team is looking to continue the success they had on the field last season. Last year’s team finished with a 7 and 2 record, earned the number four seed out of the North Division and were defeated in a first round playoff game by Fairview 34-25. Head Coach of the Beeters Mike Jones says this years group had been buys this summer. “It’s been really good, we went to camp early in June. Went down to Bozeman for team camp, had twenty five kids show up. We’ve been doing weights and stuff, wrapping up the end of that, we’ve been going since June and we’ve had a steady stream of kids in the weight room every morning and it shows their dedication and how ready they are for the upcoming season.”

While they lost some key players to graduation, coach Jones says the defense has looked good during off season workouts, but there are some holes to fill on the offensive side of the ball. “Offensively we need to shore up some things, we have some key replacements leaving and so we need to find some shoes to fill. With Toby leaving and Oscar and Hunter and Wyatt and so, you lost a guy like Drake to Northern and the rest of those four Seniors and we’ve got some shoes to fill.”
