FORT BENTON, Mont. (NMB) – The sales numbers are in from last weekend’s 4-H Livestock Auction at the Chouteau County Fair in Fort Benton.
Sales figures were truly impressive, with over $299,900 in sales. This includes donations of $1,134 going towards building and equipment improvements raised through the resale of two lambs.
In total, 24 beef, five sheep, 31 pigs, and three bred heifers were sold.
This year’s sales compare favorably to the 2021 auction, which recorded $224,000 in gross sales.
Organizers would like to thank all the businesses and individuals that helped make this years sale a success.
“We get a lot of support from folks from businesses from Great Falls, Big Sandy, Geraldine, Highwood, just excellent support. Havre is a great supporter of our fair.”
Money raised at the livestock sale goes back to the 4-H kids that raised the animals, with many saving the money for college.
