The Havre Blue Pony football team started their season with a win last week, with a 13-7 victory over the Sidney Eagles.
The team’s defense played great, holding Sidney scoreless in the first half, and only allowing a single score in the third quarter.
Head Coach of the Blue Ponies Jake Eldridge said he enjoyed watching his defense get to work.
“They played really, really well. They continued to get the ball back to the offense and ya know, it was pretty sweet to see them stand up and get stop-after-stop,” says Eldridge.
Now in the middle of week 2, the Blue Ponies are gearing up for their home opener against the Fergus Golden Eagles on Friday Night.
Coach Eldridge shared with us what he and his staff are doing to better prepare their players.
“Yeah, something that we have talked to our kids about all year long is not really allowing the situation in the ballgame, or those outside things to dictate how you play,” says Eldridge.
Havre aims to start the season 2-0, following their matchup with Fergus High.
