The National Alliance on Mental Illness in Havre, also known as NAMI has their September list of events online and invites the public to participate in activities that provides the support needed.
Havre NAMI President Crystal Laufer says people with mental illnesses are often isolated and connecting with the community brings awareness to services a person would otherwise not utilize.
“We try to out in the public that they are not alone. We sit and visit and explain what NAMI is, and they’re like, that sounds good. That’s a good group.”
The http://nami.org website also lists September as Suicide Prevention Awareness Month.
NAMI in Havre is located in the Atrium at 305 3rd Avenue suite 212.
