American Legion Post 11 hosts 9-11 Memorial Services on Sunday

HAVRE (NMB) The American Legion Post 11 in Havre is hosting a memorial service on Sunday September 11th in conjunction with law enforcement agencies to pay respect to lives lost in 2001.

American Legion post member Robert Brewer says memorializing 9-11 is needed to remember what happened 21 years ago.

“People have a tendency to forget and put it behind them . This is just our way of reminding the public  that something very tragic happened that day and we should never forget.”

Brewer says  this is the first time the American Legion riders is sponsoring this memorial.

On Sunday September 11th there will be a gathering at Town Square at 9AM with services starting promptly at 9:11 AM. The memorial will serve as a way to pay respect to those who lost their lives during the 9-11 attacks.  Afterwards a motorcycle ride will head to Beaver Creek Park then back to Havre.

At noon the Elk’s lodge will serve a free lunch of hamburgers and hotdogs. Elk’s Lodge secretary Brandy Kurtz the lunch is free but there will be a collection basket for anyone wanting to donate.
