
HAVRE (NMB) The Havre City Council met Tuesday and approved three requests for street closures for Festival Days. The Council also heard public comment regarding
PJ’s restaurant requested a closure of Main Street behind the bar to host a street dance with live music on September 17th. One council member asked if there was a request for an open container waiver which was confirmed before the vote to approve.
Also approved was a request from the Chamber of Commerce for parade route closure, a bounce house street closure and the open container waiver for the Rock Lotto in the Town Square area.
St. Jude received approval for street closure request on October 21st and 22nd for the Annual Pumpkin Patch Festival
Resolution No. 3874 which was discussed and approved in regards to assessing a special property tax against certain property in the City of Havre for failure to pay a reasonable charge for nuisance weed control under Section 9-6-7 of city code. It was brought before the council that some members of the public were requesting a second notice by mail if they fail control overgrowth. Mayor Kaercher said that part of the ordinance had been removed several years ago because it took time and money and if a property owner was notified once then they were notified for the year.
