The MSU-Northern Lights football team lost it’s home opener against the Southern Oregon Raiders over the weekend, putting them at 0-2 to start the season.
The team lost 56-6, allowed 565 yards defensively, and only managed to reach the redzone a single time.
Backup quarterback Kaymen Cureton provided a spark of energy for the Lights offense, leading them in rushing and throwing the team’s lone touchdown, finding wide receiver Luke Triplett in the endzone.
Raiders quarterback Blake Asciutto had a solid performance, completing 21 of his 28 passes and throwing four touchdowns.
You can’t forget about Raiders wide receiver Adrick Lamar, who caught four balls for 142 yards and one touchdown.
The Lights now have two weeks of preparation before they take on Montana Western at Tilleman Field, on September 17th.
