(NMB) The Montana State University Northern Skylight Basketball team has been busy preparing for the upcoming 2022/2023 season and Head Coach Chris Mouat says he’s been pleased with what he’s seeing from his team so far. “We haven’t had a bad practice, that’s unique, for that many practices in, not to at least have one where your kind of going, well we could have got more done or could’ve gone harder or something else. You know, their effort’s been outstanding, the mental effort has been every bit as good and they’re meeting every challenge every day. I’m pleased with them.”
The Skylights are looking to improve on last year’s 9 and 21 overall record, they were 2 and 13 in Conference play. Mouat expects the Frontier Conference to be as tough to navigate as it always is. “We were the number one conference in the country. The hardest conference to play in in the country and that’s based on an RPI system and strength of schedule system. So, it’s not just me saying that, it’s fact, and I don’t think that changes this year.
The Skylights open up their season on Friday October 28th against Kings University. That game will be played at Havre High Schoo
