(Billings) – MTN reports that a Laurel man who admitted to five charges of aggravated animal cruelty for killing house cats was sentenced on Tuesday.
Sean Robinson of Laurel appeared in Yellowstone District Court on Tuesday and a judge sentenced him to spend ten years in prison for the animal cruelty charges and an additional ten years for unrelated felony drug charges.
Robinson was charged in June 2021 after authorities served a drug search warrant at his residence and found dead and mutilated cats on the property. According to court records, Robinson admitted to killing approximately ten to twelve cats that he stole or was give in the Laurel area between March and June of 2021.
In addition to the prison sentence, the judge ordered Robinson to pay a $5,000 fine—$1,000 for each cat he admitted killing to the Yellowstone Valley Animal Shelter.
