(Havre) – The Montana State University – Northern Lights Wrestling Team traveled to Powell Wyoming for the Trapper Open on Saturday and were very successful in the first tournament of the season.
The Lights placed nine wrestlers in the top three, including two champions, two second place finishers, and five 3rd place competitors.
At 149 pounds Martin Wilkie was the champion with a fall over Wyatt McDermott from Western Wyoming College. Devin Crawford utilized at 17-0 Technical Fall over Bridger Hall from the University of Providence to be crowned champion at 165 pounds.
Finishing second for the Lights were Tanner Cook at 125 pounds and Collin Silverthorn at 141 pounds. Third place finishes for the Lights include Cooper Cook at 133 pounds, Connor Harris at 157 Pounds, Zach Valdez at 165 Pounds, Cade Gubler at 174 Pounds and Carl Hansen at 197 Pounds.
Next Up for the Lights is a dual against the University of Providence in Great Falls on Wednesday November 9th.
