The Havre Blue Ponies started off Class A State Tournament play with a sweep over the Hamilron Broncs Thursday in Bozeman, with games of 25-17, 25-12, 25-13.
In the opener, Avery Carlson and Emilee Chambliss scored 2 aces apiece, with Carlson adding 11 kills to lead the game. Molly Huse had 26 assists in the match, Yelena Miller headed up blocks with 3, and Carlson along with Lizzi Haney had 11 digs each.
That moved Havre into a quarterfinal winners match with the Billings Central Rams. The Ponies fell to BC 3-1, with scores of 25-18, 25-23, 21-25, 25-23.
For that matchup, Molly Huse and Kyanna Jarvis each put down an ace, Avery Carlson led kills with 13, and Huse contributed 32 assists. Yelena Miller gained the blocking honors with 6, and Carlson had 28 digs.
Havre will see their next action Friday at 4pm.
