Big Sandy Ends Three Year Semi-Finals Drought

The Big Sandy Pioneers defeated Bridger in the semi-finals of the 6-Man State Football Tournament over the weekend to advance to the State Championship. The Pioneers will battle Broadview-Lavina in the final game of the season.

The Pioneers overcame a 3-year losing streak in the semi-finals. Head Coach of the Pioneers, Larry Jappe, talks the coaching adjustments made with a different group of players that has helped them.

You know I’ve been coaching these guys up differently than I coached in the years before, and things have just been working out well for us.” – Jappe

With weather always being a concern for November Montana football, Coach Jappe talks about potential changes they may have to make heading into the big game.

Big changes in the weather right now, keeping on the ground a little bit more. Still passing it, we’re still practicing passing the footing is just not great. We’re probably going to line up and pound the ball a little more than we have been.” – Jappe

Championship Kickoff is Saturday at 1PM on KRYK.
