Two teams, two games left, vying for the two seed. Wow, talk about deuces wild. After last night’s losses from both MSU-Northern and Providence, Montana Tech clinched the regular season Frontier Conference Title with their overtime win last night.
So, what does that mean for the rest? Well, I’ll explain and try to go into as much detail as possible without making it too complicated.
Both are still in contention for the two-seed. MSUN losing last night on the same night Providence lost, didn’t really help, but it also doesn’t hurt them (not yet at least) and vice versa for the Argos.
What can happen from here? Well, if MSUN wins the last two games of the season and Providence either, losses both or, only wins one, MSUN is the second seed. You can also flip that for if Providence wins both, they are the two seed. If both teams split the last two games, both will end up with identical 8-7 records, with Providence getting the second seed.
Also, with the win by Rocky Mountain, they are still only two games back and hold the tiebreaker over MSUN and Providence. They could sneak their way into the top three but would have to win the remainder of their two games and both teams would have to lose their last two.
The last two games continue to have a major impact on the Conference Tournament seeding and I, for one, am excited to see how the last two games play out.
