The Havre Station Border Patrol, thanks to modern technology, is able to assist their fellow agents down on the southwestern border.
Michael Rappold the Havre Station Patrol Agent in charge explain how the border patrol up north can assist their fellow agents down south.
“So, one of the ways that we help them is to do virtual processing up here. Instead of us sending our agents down for 30 day stretches to the southwest border, one of the alternatives is for us to do our virtual processing here at the station. We have agents that are able to sit at a terminal and be able to do the interviews and be able to handle a lot of the interactions that are necessary to be able to process individuals, family units or what have you for the southern border in the different sectors that are available. The whole approach is much better and more cost effective than sending people to multiple different locations all over to try to help with the influx.”-Michael Rappold
