Boat Usage Restrictions on Missouri River

(Fort Benton) – The Bureau of Land Management operates the Upper Missouri Breaks Interpretive Center in Fort Benton. Starting this Thursday June 15th, there will be restrictions with boat usage on the Missouri River. Acting director of the Upper Missouri Breaks Interpretive Center Melinda Bolton tells us more.

Since 1976, those seasonal boating restrictions happen on the wild and scenic segments of the river where you have motorized travel upstream and downstream all year long, and then those seasonally restricted segments which are restricted June fifteenth through September fifteenth, they’ll only allow downstream travel at no wake speeds and then just certain days of the week.”-Bolton
