(Havre) – Northern Montana Hospital in Havre, has applied to be designated as a critical access hospital. Christen Obresley. Vice President of Regulatory and Community Service at Northern Montana Hospital tells us more.
“Critical access hospital is a designation given to certain rural hospitals by the center for Medicare and Medicaid services, we call the CMS and the reason that they give this designation to rural hospitals is because they’re an integral part of the healthcare system. So, rural hospitals provide care to people across the continuum of care. That is to say we provide care to people from the time they’re born until the time they pass away.”-Obresley
Obresley explains what patients can expect when Northern Montana Hospital becomes a critical access hospital.
“It’s going to be a seamless transition for the community. We’re going to have the same providers, the same staff, the same ER, the same services. Nothing is going to change.”-Obresley
