The MSU-Northern Skylights volleyball team is on the road once again with another preseason tournament, which begins on Friday in Valley City, North Dakota. The Skylights will be taking on the likes of Mayville State, Dickinson State, Valley City State University, and the University of Winnipeg.
MSU-N defeated the first three teams listed last season by a combined nine sets to two. Head coach Jerry Wagner spoke on how the team has been able to play the highest levels of competition and how that will get them ready for this weekend.
“We’re going to be on the other end of it,” Wagner said. “We have to be able to approach all of these matches with the same focus, which is to get better every time.”
Wagner likes the direction of the team heading into these matchups, but knows that the team will be even better this time around than last season.
“We’re expected to be better than we were last year (in the Frontier-North Star Challenge) and better than the last time out,” Wagner said. “That’s our approach to every one of these (matches).”
