(Helena) – Superintendent Arntzen announced that the Montana Office of Public Instruction (OPI) will soon begin offering the GED as a High School Equivalency exam option to qualifying individuals. The OPI currently offers the HiSET test, which will continue to be available.
The GED and HiSET tests assess competency of reading, writing, math, science, and social studies. The complete test is referred to as the battery. The price for the battery of computer-based GED tests is $144. The price for the computer-based HiSET cost will increase in January 2024, to $75 for the battery plus test center/proctor administration fees ranging from $5.00-$17.50 per subtest.
