The District 1B Volleyball Tournament is scheduled to take place at the Fairfield High School Gym starting on Thursday and running through Saturday. Here is a rundown of the schedule that will be on tap:
The Chinook Sugarbeeters are the No. 4 seed and will kick off the tournament playing the No. 5 Shelby Coyotes at 4pm. The winner of that fixture will play No. 1 Fairfield on Friday at 10am. The Eagles got a bye into the second round as a result of finishing as the top team in regular season play.
20 minutes after the conclusion of the Chinook-Shelby match, No. 3 Choteau and No. 6 Cut Bank will do battle. The winner of the match gets the victor of No. 2 Conrad and No. 7 Rocky Boy, which is scheduled for 20 minutes after the conclusion of Choteau-Cut Bank.
After the winner of Chinook-Shelby takes on Fairfield, there will be four more matches that follow one another in 20-minute intervals and those teams will be determined based on Thursday’s results. Placement matches begin at 1pm on Saturday with the fourth place, followed by third, and then a double-elimination championship, if necessary.
