(Havre) – Havre Trails has been awarded the OnX Emerging Outdoor Community Award by OnX. Sammie Chagnon Secretary for Havre Trails talks about the award.
“The OnX Outdoor Emerging Community Award is given to an organization that is improving or creating outdoor recreation opportunities in lesser-known areas of Montana and Havre trails really fits nicely into that category. We are so honored to be awarded. we’re really proud of all the work that we’ve done to promote and build trails in the area over the past 8 years and its Awesome to be acknowledged in this way by OnX and the Montana Access Project.
She goes on to talk about what projects Havre Trails is currently involved in.
“So, our new project that were working on is actually a partnership with local private landowners, Hill County and the Montana Land Reliance, which is a conservation organization out of Helena. Havre Trails is currently working with the landowners to help facilitate a conservation easement along with a public access easement on several acres of land in the Saddle Butte Area. we’ve been working toward getting these easements in place which will hopefully be finalized towards the end of the year and then we plan to break ground on a new trail in the spring.”
