(Helena) – Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks is seeking public comment on the Wilkins Private Pond Draft Environmental Checklist Environmental Assesment.
The assessment revolves around a private landowner who is proposing to stock two 4-foot by 10-foot aquaponics tanks located in a greenhouse. The proposed water source is well water and there are no outlets to the tank. There is also a shallow pond upstream of this wetland that is unlikely to support fish year-round. If necessary, fish could be removed from these tanks using dip nets.
