Chinook Girls’ Basketball Team Looks to Dominate Shelby Coyote Classic

The Chinook Lady Sugarbeeters (1-0) will be taking their talents back on the road this weekend. They’ll travel two hours west on Highway 2 to Shelby, where the Coyote (KAI-yote) Classic is taking place. The Beeters will be the first team on the court on Friday morning when they take on Eureka, also known as Lincoln County. They will then rest up to play against Malta on Saturday afternoon.

New Media Broadcasters talked with Lady Beeters head coach Mike Seymour and he said earlier in the week that the team hadn’t seen much of their first opponent, but talked up their second opponent because of experience.

“I don’t really know much about Eureka,” Seymour said. “(However), we did play Malta this summer a couple of times. They’re a quick team. They have some talented guards and a post player that’s very talented.”

“Those are some things that we’ll focus on as we prepare our game plan,” Seymour said.

The game versus Eureka will be at 9am on Friday and the Malta game will be Saturday at 3pm. Listen to a feed of the Malta game on KRYK 101.3 FM.
