(Havre) The VA’s “Upward Bound” program is a program designed to assist veterans in finding a secondary education after serving in the military. New Media Broadcasters spoke with Michael Wolff, Associate Director of the Upward Bound Program, who says they’re trying something a little different this year.
(Michael Wolff) “So, we’re funded through the department of education, and our host institution is actually at Montana State University Northern. One of the things that we’re trying to do is kind of broaden our outreach and kind of share our messages and our services in a different way than we have in the past. We’ve tried in the past to focus on newspaper and social media and what have you, and that’s been mixed results. One of the things that we’re trying to do is put out a press release a few weeks before our services begin so that not only the community but the veterans, the families, know about who we are and what we’re doing”
