Lights Wrestlers Ready to Take Mat Again

It’s finally time for the MSU-Northern Lights wrestling team to take the mat again. The squad is off to compete at the Missouri Collegiate on Friday and Saturday.

Coach Tyson Thivierge told New Media Broadcasters is finally ready to put the narrative of his team playing catch-up behind and is looking forward to what the challenges of wrestling again will do for his team.

“Well, the last couple weeks of 2023 we did get kind of beat up. There were some situations that happened that weren’t very comfortable. But now that everybody’s healed up, we’re just kind of focused on these last three weeks. We’ve been focused on getting out there and making a statement.”

That statement comment carried over into the next portion of what Thivierge’s team will be looking for; drive and opportunity.

“We are not in a marathon anymore, we’re in the sprint portion of the season. We’re excited to go make a statement this weekend and that’s what we need to do. especially with some of the new faces in the lineup. We need to go out there and make a statement and that’s what I’m enjoying about what’s happening in the room right now, is seeing them eager. They’re ready for this weekend.”

New Media Broadcasters will provide results from the Missouri Collegiate over the weekend, so stay tuned to MSU-Northern wrestling updates.
