Kubuta Inc. fined $2mil for falsely claiming “Made in USA”

(Montana) The company Kubota North America was recently penalized 2 million dollars in a civil suit brought by the FTC for what the FTC says is them violating the Made in USA labeling rule by falsely labeling replacement parts for its agricultural equipment as Made in the USA.

The FTC says that, since at least 2021, the company has been labeling these products as such when, in fact, the parts have been imported from overseas. In addition, the FTC says that some of Kubota’s manufacturing facilities were relocated outside of the United States, but the labels were unchanged.

The 2 million dollars Kubota is being fined must be paid to the US treasury.
