(NMB) The Hill County Plant a Seed Read Program will be holding their Denim and Diamonds Fundraiser next Saturday night February 10th. This year’s event will be held at the St. Jude Parish Center and feature a prime rib dinner, live and silent auction items and some other fun games. Plant a Seed Read Executive Program Director Lorraine Verploegen says funds raised will go towards a new project, The Play to Learn Pre-School Museum.
“This is something the Board has been thinking about, some type of program other than just the books for children from the ages of birth to age 5. AT that age they learn through play and it’s real important for them to have some kind of activity that they can do dramatic play and role play and discover. So, we will be doing different types of things for those children.”
The Vision of the Play to Learn Museum is to be a place where children can learn through play, provide hands on experiences through dramatic play and discovery. It will also include Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math Activities.
