The Chinook girls’ basketball program is currently (13-0) after dominating victories once again last week over Choteau, Conrad, and Rocky Boy. Lady Beeters coach Mike Seymour shared with New Media Broadcasters the one constant that kept them undefeated for another week.
“I was happy with our defensive intensity, especially the first two nights,” Seymour said. “I thought we came out in our defensive pressure (and) caused a lot of turnovers (and) transition baskets, so that’s always good for us.”
“Saturday night, we weren’t quite as sharp,” Seymour continued. “Those are some things that we are working on again this week at practice.”
Chinook will host Fairfield in its next game. The Eagles bring a 2-3 zone defense that was new to the Lady Beeters the last time these two teams matched up back in early January. Seymour said his team will have to be more focused on running their schemes with the kind of looks they will get on that side of the floor.
“They’re going to be a little bit different (and) longer,” Seymour said. “They have a 6-foot transfer (Kenzie Allen) that is now eligible to play for them and is starting. Their length on that back side, she plays on the bottom and gives pretty good length.”
“We’re going to have to make sure that we’re using fast pace to come coming to meet the ball (and) all those basic fundamental things,” Seymour continued.
