The Havre tennis teams were at the Dawson County Invite all weekend long. Here are some notable results from the two days of play:
For the boys’, the doubles teams were in cruise control all weekend long. Mason Kinsella and Carter Chagnon won all of their matches. They beat Hardin, (4-6, 6-4, 9-7), Fergus, (6-3, 6-3), Miles City, (6-3, 7-6), Glendive, (6-3, 6-3), Hardin, (6-4, 6-2), and Billings Central, (6-3, 4-6, 7-5).
Against Fergus, Havre also got dominating doubles performances from the Spangler brothers, (6-2, 6-2) and Reid Kato with Callen Stoner, (6-4, 6-3). Carter and Max Spangler won their doubles match against Miles City, (6-2, 6-3). The Spangler brothers won against Glendive as well, beating their Red Devils opponents, (6-3, 4-6, 6-3). Kato and Stoner also won in straight sets, (6-3, 6-4). Against Hardin, Kato and Stoner were doubles’ winners, (6-3, 7-5). The Ponies also matched up with BC as Carter and Max Spangler took care of them, (6-4, 3-6, 6-2).
For the girls’, Chloe Bricker (6-3, 6-2) and Heather Herring (6-2, 6-3) got singles wins against Fergus. The pair won singles again against Glendive as Bricker took her match, (2-6, 6-2, 7-5) and Herring won in straight sets, (6-3, 6-2). Herring won her BC singles matchup for the girls, (6-4, 7-5). In doubles against the Red Devils, Lindsey Leinwand and Tylee Hemmer claimed a win, (4-6, 7-6, 7-3).
Next up for Havre is the Mayfair Invite, which is scheduled to be in Billings from Friday to Saturday.
