FWP holding “Bear Aware” meetings locally.

(MT FWP) With bear activity increasing, Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks (FWP) will be hosting several meetings in region 6 to help the public become bear aware.

Two meetings are scheduled for Saturday, May 18, starting in Chinook from 3-5pm, at the Blaine County Library, 112 4th Street West. Then from 5-7pm a meeting will be held in Havre from 7-9pm at the Hill County Electric Building, 2121 US Highway 2.

Sunday May 19, FWP personnel will conduct a meeting from noon to 2p at the Zortman BLM Fire Station, 1 mile southeast of Zortman on Bear Gulch Road.

The event is open to the public, and landowners are encouraged to attend.

Anyone sighting a grizzly bear in central or north central Montana, especially near residences, please call Wesley Sarmento at 406 450 1097, Chad White at 406 788 4755, or your local FWP office.
