(Bozeman) Montana State University broke ground on a new facility that will hold three agricultural labs conducting research and analysis for Montana’s ag producers.
The Combined State Laboratories building will house Montana Department of Livestock, Montana Department of Agriculture, and Montana State University labs.
The department of Livestock’s lab will do research vets, ag producers, and wildlife managers by testing for diseases and ensuring animal safety. The department of Ag’s lab will test feed and fertilizer samples to ensure ingredients are labeled properly, and tests groundwater for pesticides and fertilizers to prevent them from entering Montana’s groundwater.
