Local Students Receive Community Service Scholarships

HELENA, Mont. (NMB) – The Governor’s Office of Community Service, in partnership with Reach Higher Montana and Montana Campus Compact, awarded $1,000 scholarships to 100 Montana high school seniors.

A press release says that the Youth Serve Montana Scholarship recognizes students’ dedication to community service and helps students who wish to attend school in Montana. They are intended to promote volunteerism and encourage young leaders to further their learning.

Some of the local winners are Anna McEvers and Sequoyah Osborne from Browning; Tyler Wanken from Chester; Kourtney Hanson and Paxtin McCann from Chinook; Hanna Antonsen and Whitney Durocher from Choteau; Skylee Dirden from Harlem; Chaykota Christensen from Hinsdale; Melanie Watkins from Loring; Brittany Hanson, Damon Irvin, Kaylee Appley, Kiana Jorata, and Skyler Martin from Shelby; Cody Hanson from Sunburst; and Anna Slivka from Winifred.
