(Hi-Line) As previously reported by New Media Broadcasters, the USDA is rolling out a new plan to support farmers and producers that are adversely affected by the failure of the St. Mary Siphon earlier this year.
New Media Broadcasters spoke with Marni Thompson, an Assistant Conservationist for Operations with the National Resources Conservation Service for more on this opportunity.
“It is providing livestock water in those counties where the St. Mary’s Canal was the only water source, or the Milk River was the only water source for the pasture. We’re also offering cost share for planting cover crops to hay and to graze”
