(Keller Sherman) – The Montana State University-Northern Skylights fell to Rocky Mountain College in a five-set thriller (3-2) on Wednesday night in Armory Gym. It was the final home regular season match for the Skylights, who will host the Frontier Conference Tournament November 15th and 16th.
The Bears took the first set (25-22) and the Skylights responded with a (25-21) set two victory. Northern carried the momentum into a (25-19) set three win, but the Bears claimed a set four victory (28-26) to send it to five in Armory Gym. The decisive set would also go to the visiting team (16-14) and with it the match.
Alana Graves led the way for the Skylights with 20 kills. Jessalyn Chvilicek added 15 kills. Macee Murphy had 30 assists on the match while Emily Feller had 28. Baily Egan led the way in digs with 32.
The Skylights fall to 11-13 on the season and 3-9 in Frontier action and will play their final three regular season matches on the road. Northern’s next action is on Saturday as they travel down to Dillon to play Montana-Western for a 2pm first serve.
