Helena-Lewis and Clark Forest offering tree permits.

(Helena – Lewis and Clark Forest) The Helena-Lewis and Clark National Park announced that they are again offering Christmas/Holiday Tree Permits ahead of the the holiday season.

The season for picking has already started with November 1st marking opening day, but park officials say that harvesting of trees will be allowed all the way through December 31st.

Each family will be limited to a maximum of 3 trees for the season, with the price set at 5 dollars per tree.

Only small trees are permitted, with a 12 foot maximum height, and stump height no taller than 6 inches.
