The MSU Northern Lights wrestling team took to the mat at the Battle of the Rockies in Great Falls on Saturday, with all particiating lights placing. 6 Lights made their way to the championship round.
At 125# Kolten Powers won by technical fall in the quarter finals, and advanced with a 5-0 decision in the semis, but fell in the championship by a 13-2 decision for second place.
Justin Windauer claimed second as well at 157#, making his way through the quarterfinals on a major decision and winning his semi by decision, before falling to a 10-4 decision in the final bout.
At 165#, Travis Waldner received a first round bye into a quarterfinal match, which he won by technical fall. Advancing from his semi by pinfall at 6:10, Waldner was defeated by a 4-1 sudden victory in the championship.
Devin Crawford won his 174# division, going from a first round bye to a 1:22 pinfall victory in quarterfinal action. A 17-0 techical fall victory in the semis moved Crawford into position to win the championship round by pinfall at 2:02.
