(Havre) As previously reported by New Media Broadcasters, several Hi-Line communities were the recipients of the Montana Department of Commerce’s Economic Impact and Destination Event Grants.
New Media Broadcasters spoke with Mandy Rambo, Montana Department of Commerce Deputy Director, to hear more about the goals for this round of funding.
“So the Economic Impact and Destination Event Grant Program, this is our second cycle for this grant program. It is a reiteration of what used to be called our tourism events grants. Legislation changed how commerce utilizes the lodging and facility use tax, or more commonly called bed tax, that we are allocated. They asked for us to focus on rural and under-visited Montana.”
