MSU-Northern basketball suffered losses to the University of Providence on Thursday night in Great Falls. The Skylights fell short, (58-52), while the Lights were blown out, (91-71).
For the Skylights (10-7, 1-3 in the Frontier Conference), they battled back, losing by as many as 13 points. It was a 3-point game with less than 10 seconds to go before Monqiue Carter sunk a 3-pointer to push the No. 23 team in the land across the finish line. Canzas HisBadHorse put on another good offensive performance, finishing with a game-high 19 points. McKenzie Long also had one of her best games in a Skylights uniform with 11 points.
The Lights (6-11, 0-4) were shot out of the gym as they couldn’t handle the hot field goal and three-point percentages the Argos put up. Providence went 13-of-24 from beyond 3-point land and were at 55 percent from the floor overall. The Lights did get key contributions from Cinque Maxwell (13 points) and Raefe McEnroe (11 points).
