The Chinook boys’ basketball team is coming off the team’s fourth win of the season, beating Shelby. New Media Broadcasters caught up with head coach Bill Bell, who said what he liked most about his team’s performance this past Saturday.
“I believe the boys played the most complete game that we have all season,” Bell said. “It showed with our turnovers, which was not as many as it has been in the past.”
“Just taking care of the ball overall,” Bell continued.
Bell’s Beeters have two more games upcoming this week. They’ll first host Rocky Boy, a team that beat them by double digits to open 2025. Bell said what adjustments will be made ahead of the rematch with the Northern Stars.
“We’re just looking to slow down some of their better shooters and get a hand in their face and play our best defense so that they’re not getting open shots,” Bell said.
The Beeter boys’ will then be on the road to Choteau. Coach Bell said what kind of uphill climb the team will face.
“Choteau is going to be a tough draw,” Bell said. “But I think if we play like we have been in the past week, I think we’ll be fine.”
A doubleheader will start each day off with boys’ basketball as Chinook (4-8, 3-3) faces Rocky Boy (6-6, 4-4) inside the Floyd-Bowen Gym on Friday at 6pm, followed by a road matchup with Choteau around 4pm on Saturday. The games will be on KRYK-101.3FM and HiLineToday.com with Noah Friedman calling Friday’s contests.
