Great Northern Fair Board Hires a New Manager

HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – On Thursday evening, the Great Northern Fair Board met for a special meeting keep things moving forward for the 2019 fair. Chairman Tyler Smith says that Frank English was hired on as their new Fair Manager, after over a year without one. English will be a contractor, rather than an employee of the county as in the past.

“He’s a lifelong resident of the area. Pretty active in the community. He is in the background working on live music events that are in our area, as well as pretty active with the ski hill people, and some other organizations.”

Smith says they’ve changed the Manager’s position some.

“Now, were entered into essentially, not an employee contract, but a contractor contract. So we don’t have the constraint of some overtime policies of the county and some other things that didn’t allow us the flexibility to have that manager do what he needs to do.”

Smith says English has a lot on his plate right now, but the Board will be helping him with his new duties as the Fair approaches this summer.
