The 2025 Hi-Line Invitational Tournament tipped off competition on Thursday night from MSU-Northern’s Armory Gym. Class ‘A’ faced off with Class ‘C’ as the girls’ took the court first and the boys’ followed.
In the girls’ game, Class ‘A’ dominated, (98-55). The team raced out to a (21-8) lead at the end of the first quarter and never looked back in the wire-to-wire victory. Havre’s Ariana Gary scored 14 points and had seven boards. Amaya Jarvis had seven rebounds of her own to go along with four points. Another Blue Pony, Ela Harbor, recorded nine points and nine rebounds. The game-high for Class ‘A’ was a tie between Lockwood’s Dani Jordan and Bigfork Braden Gunlock with 18, while Dillon’s Kenleigh Graham had 15. BriElla Becker from Denton-Geyser-Stanford-Geraldine had a team-high 13 points for Class ‘C’.
Class ‘A’s boys followed that up with a win of their own, a closer (84-83) victory. It looked like another runaway as Class ‘A’ built up a (53-32) lead after two quarters, but Class ‘C’ stormed back and ultimately fell short. Tre Gary of Havre led the team with 10 assists to go along with four points. The other Blue Pony, Matt Huse, grabbed three rebounds along with his two points. Kyler Engellant from Dillon led everyone with 24 points, while Johnslee Pierre from Lustre Christian scored 17 for Class ‘C’.
