Summer is almost here and that means the Havre Northstars will be playing baseball at Legion Field once again. New head coach Ryan Divish came out with a set schedule last week. The coaching staff was officially finalized as Ben Mader returns as the lead Northstars assistant. Joining Divish and Mader in the dugout will be three alums of the program: Drake Berreth, Brody Nanini, and Ethan Carlson.
The home and season opener will be played on Sunday, April 27th against the Kalispell Lakers with first pitch of the doubleheader scheduled for noon. The Northstars do not play again until Saturday, May 10 against the Miles City Mavericks, which will be another doubleheader. The alumni game will take place on Thursday, June 5th with a time to be determined. The Harold Gjerde Memorial tournament in Lewistown gets going from June 19-22 and will be convenient travel because the Northstars will be playing the Redbirds the day prior in a conference matchup. After alternating non-conference and conference matchups for the first month and a half of the season, the bulk of conference play kicks off on June 24th in a home doubleheader with the Lethbridge Lakers.
Districts this season will be in Lewistown from July 23-27 and the Class A State tournament takes place in Conrad from July 29-Aug. 3.
The Northstars, coming off a third-place regular season finish in 2024, lost just one senior from last season and will be a threat in the Class ‘A’ North District this time around.
