(NMB) Area Athletes had great finishes at the State Class “C” Track meet in Missoula over the weekend. CJI’s Dane Grammar was a State Champion in the Shot Put and Discus. Donovan Posey of Dodson finished 7th in the 1600 and 5th in the 3200. In the 4 X 100 Relay CJI was 2nd and Fort Benton 5th. Fort Benton’s 4 X 400 relay team was 7th. Dreyden Anderson of Box Elder was 3rd in the High Jump and 7th in the triple jump and Braxton Hajenga of Big Sandy took 5th in the High Jump. Truman Giese (Gee-see) of Fort Benton was 5th in the Long Jump.
For the Girls, Brynn Kammerzell of CJI was the State Champion in the High Jump and Angeline Reiner of Fort Benton was 2nd. Turner’s Ali Doyle was State Champ in 300-meter hurdles, finished 8th in 100-meter, 2nd in the 200 meter and 8th in the 100-meter hurdles. Bridget Reed of Turner was 5th in the 400-meter, 2nd in the 800 and 3rd in the 100-meter hurdles.
Piper Miller from Northstar was 6th in the 800, 8th in the 1600, 5th in the 3200 and 5th in Pole Vault. Etta Wicks of Fort Benton took 3rd in the 100-meter, 3rd in the 200 and 9th in long jump. Fort Benton’s 4 X 100 relay won the State Championship and Brie Mattson of CJI took 4th in the 300-meter hurdles.
In the Final Team Standings on the Girls side Fort Benton and Turner tied for 6th and the CJI boys were 6th.
