(NMB) The Annual Bear Paw Marathon takes place this Saturday June 7th. To date, 277 entrants are signed up to participate. 39 to run the full marathon, 89 for the half marathon and 149 are registered to participate in the 5K run/walk. All three events begin in Beaver Creek Park and finish on the campus of MSU Northern.
The full marathon begins at 6am, half marathon at 7am and 5K at 8am. There will be 14 aid stations throughout the full marathon course spaced approximately every 2 miles with water and first aid kits.
The course will be coned and marked very well, but it is open to traffic. There will be volunteers and/or police officers at most intersections. Motorists are reminded to please remain on the LEFT (southbound) side of the road unless otherwise directed.
For those participating, packet pickup for the full marathon, half marathon, and 5K is at the Holiday Village Mall (1753 US-2, Havre, MT 59501), on Friday, June 6th between 4:00 PM and 8:00 PM. There will be NO packet pick up on race day.
