HELENA, Mont. — Malta, Shelby, and Hinsdale are among 39 Montana communities receiving state grant funding to improve critical infrastructure.
The Montana Department of Commerce announced over $23 million in Montana Coal Endowment Program grants to support local water, wastewater, and bridge projects.
The City of Malta will receive $500,000 to install a new water tank.
In Shelby, $375,000 will go toward sewer main rehabilitation.
And in Hinsdale, the local water and sewer district is awarded $500,000 for improvements to its water distribution system.
The grants aim to address aging infrastructure while easing the financial burden on rural communities.
