WEST GLACIER, Mont. — Glacier National Park officials are reminding visitors to secure all food and attractants after two recent black bear incidents.
A food-conditioned bear was euthanized June 5th in West Glacier after reportedly breaking into a vehicle and building.
On June 7th, another bear with a cub received food from an unattended backpack along Going-to-the-Sun Road.
Officials warn that food-conditioned bears often must be relocated or euthanized for safety.
Visitors are urged to keep packs with them and report bear sightings to park rangers.
