(NMB) Four members of the Hi Line rodeo team have qualified for the National Junior High rodeo that begins next Sunday. All earned their way via top finishes in State competition. They are Ashlyn Gibson of Havre who finished 3rd in the light rifle competition. Cayden Chapman of Havre took 1st in girls goat tying. Hadley Wicks of Chester was 3rd in ribbon roping and Lane Wicks of Chester was 1st in all around, 2nd in tie down roping, 2nd in team roping and 1st in chute dogging.
All 4 will compete at the National Junior High Rodeo Finals June 22nd through the 28th in Des Moines Iowa. The event is one of the largest rodeo’s in the world featuring top Middle School cowboys and cowgirls competing for National titles.
In addition to competing for more than $80,000 in prizes, 1,200 contestants from 43 U.S. States, 5 Canadian Provinces, Australia, and Mexico will also be competing for more than $200,000 in college scholarships.
