Gianforte Praises Streamlined Broadband Guidance

HELENA, Mont. — Governor Greg Gianforte on Friday praised the Trump administration for new federal guidance that streamlines the Broadband Equity Access and Deployment program.

The changes eliminate what Gianforte called burdensome Biden-era rules, allowing Montana to more efficiently invest $629 million in broadband expansion.

The updated guidelines promote a technology-neutral approach to reach unserved and underserved communities.

The Montana Broadband Office says it’s ready to move forward under the full rules.
