Northstars Split with Lakers in Lethbridge

(NMB) The Havre Northstars and Lethbridge Lakers split a North District doubleheader in Lethbridge on Tuesday night. Havre lost game one 5-3 but bounced back with a 20 to 2 drubbing in the second game.

Lethbridge scored a run in the first inning, added two runs in the second and two runs in the third. The Northstars score single runs in the second, 5th and seventh innings. Chasson Mader got the start on the mound for Havre, he surrendered 11 hits and five runs over six innings. Offensively for Havre Tyson Brandon was 3 for 4 at the plate and Colter Solomon and Quinn Elliot had multiple hits as well. Lethbridge out hit Havre 11 to 9.

In game two the Northstars scored ten runs in the second inning and that would be all the runs they needed as they cruised to the 20 to 2 victory. Colter Solomon earned the win, giving up just 5 hits and two runs over five innings. Tanner DeLarosa drove in 4 runs for Havre. DeLarosa, Quinn Elliott, Conner Essert and Michael Thompson each had two hits.

Have is now 10 and 2 in conference play and will play another conference double header Wednesday in Vauxhall. First pitch is scheduled for 5pm.
