Wolf Point Man Pleads Guilty in Fatal Fort Peck Assault with Hammer

GREAT FALLS, Mont. — A Wolf Point man has pleaded guilty to assault with a dangerous weapon in connection to a January 2024 incident on the Fort Peck Indian Reservation.

23-year-old Roger Sylvan Bissonette III admitted to striking a man with a hammer during a confrontation that resulted in the victim’s death.

Witnesses reported Bissonette and two co-defendants attacked the man, who died at the scene.

Bissonette faces up to 10 years in prison, a $250,000 fine, and three years of supervised release.

Sentencing is set for October 30th.

He was released on conditions pending further proceedings.
