KALISPELL, Mont. — Governor Greg Gianforte joined law enforcement and advocates in Kalispell Wednesday to recognize “Bobby’s Law,” which increases penalties for DUI-related fatalities.
The law sets a mandatory minimum three-year sentence for drivers with a blood alcohol level double the legal limit who cause a death.
Named for Bobby Dewbre, a 21-year-old killed by a drunk driver in 2023, the law aims to strengthen accountability and deter impaired driving across Montana.
